Each year at CBS, a new vision is set by the coordinators as a focus and direction for the fellowship. This is determined over time with much prayer, seeking the Lord’s will, and discerning the needs within the fellowship.
Our vision verse for this academic year is Ephesians 3:14-19:
For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory He may grant you to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
From this passage, our vision for CBS is that we would grow into a fellowship that is growing together in our knowledge of God’s love and how that transforms our lives. As we consider the above verses, we can see that God’s love comes through Christ indwelling in us and that it fills us with all the fullness of God. In better understanding God’s love, we are naturally transformed to become more like Jesus. But we are also to do this together, and so spiritual growth and discipleship are two main things we are focusing on this year. We hope in this way to grow in our striving for holiness as imitators of Christ and to do this in accountability and encouragement with one another. It is our prayer that this vision verse push us to consider God’s glory, Christ’s love, and the Spirit’s work in our hearts!
