Each year at CBS, a new vision is set by the coordinators as a focus and direction for the fellowship. This is determined over time with much prayer, seeking the Lord’s will, and discerning the needs within the fellowship.
Our vision verse for this academic year is Colossians 3:16-17:
“Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
From this passage, our vision for CBS is that we would strengthen CBS’s sense of community and consider what it truly means to live as a Christian day-to-day. Verse 16 reminds us that the Gospel is at the center of our lives. We want to be a community that is filled with the Spirit, that reminds each other of the Good News, and that worships God in all circumstances. We also want to live as ambassadors for the Lord (verse 17). In all our interactions, whether it be with Christians or non-Christians, we are representing Christ. Whether we are boldly speaking about our faith with nonbelievers, or merely sharing a meal or a class with them, we are still representing the Lord. Let CBS embrace a life driven by and rooted in the Gospel!
